A new successful IFS and BRC-audit at BWF

BWF has reached the challenge for the new International Food Standard (IFS) and the Global Standard for Food Safety of the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and passed the quality audit successfully.
Both standards, IFS and BRC in the actual version demand the highest safety for the food branch. To guarantee this the risks and weak points have to be identified before problems can occur. These problems will be excluded by practical measures and self documented measures.
Not only premises and machines get checked, but also every employee has to give an account of oneself. He really has to know his responsibilities and how to act if something happens, which tasks he has and which aim the company follows.
The company BWF is succesfully certificated according to the IFS standard since 2005. Since 2008 the BWF is providing the demands of the BRC standard. Both audits took place in June 2010. The new certificates are available here:

New at BWF: labels visual without beading
Good news for our customers home and abroad. Through a new technological acquisition we are able to tag our cans up to 1.200 ml without beading pushing trough. Our up to now used wet glue labelling system was relieved by the better hot glue system and allows us to assure a smoother, uniform appearance of the adhesived labels.
The customer would be glad to see the cans in the in the shelf and rather reach out for the product. The eye eats too.

Successfully passed IFS and BRC-Audit
In calendary week 22 at 03rd and 04th June we have had once again review of IFS and BRC, which we passed successfully. The renewed IFS and BRC certificates we expect in August 2010 by TÜV Nord.Neu!!!

IQF-Chanterelles in large packaging
We currently offer our IQF-Chanterelles in large packaging of 10 kg cartons. The Chanterelles are packaged in temperature-controlled rooms and stored in a modern IQF-Store at -20°C.
The fresh Chanterelles come from our long-standing suppliers. The best relations with our suppliers provide a consistently high quality.
The IQF-Chanterelles are handpicked and have a nice natural color. They are free rolling frosted, blanched and are ideal for further processing.
The Chanterelles small and medium are available in 10 kg cartons, packed in plastic bags.

Fresh Chanterelles
We would like to supply you with fresh chanterelles in the next season and we want to give you an interesting offer by the time.
Our experience
We are a company which supplies and purifies mushrooms for more than 100 years and we are able to profit from contacts all over the world. Our fresh chanterelles we get from Belarus where we have a long term business connection.
Our fresh chanterelles
With our associate partner we are selling approx. 1.000 t chanterelles per year. The mushrooms are comming ordinarily from Belarus. For mushrooms in organic quality we have certificated an approx. 10.000 ha big forest area. The commodity is carefully controlled by us, so we can ensure a high grade quality to fair prices.

With the two sectors IQF and organic quality, the BWF company had done a big step to complete the own range on the market of berries and mushrooms. With the frozen mushrooms and berries BWF is able to offer goods similar to fresh one throughout the whole year. The organic range allows, to contact a group of buyers, that shows a special interest in nature related food.
IQF mushrooms and berries
The packing is done in temperated rooms, which guarantee that the products stay frozen. Raw material and packed goods are stored in a modern, automated deep frozen stock by -20°C.
This product range consists of:
- Chanterelles small or medium size
- Boletus Edulis, diced
- Forest- mixture
- Namekos
- Namekos 40%/ Chanterelles 60%
- Asian mixture
- Blueberries from the woods
Therefore the following packings are available: 250 g, 500 g, 1000 g, 2500 g
Organic mushrooms and berries
Organic products are not exclusive anymore, but they now belong to everyday's life. More and more people who want to live healthy are directly buying products of organic quality. That’s one reason for all the various offers in retail stores.
The official organic seal as an integral sign of the government is a steady guidance for customers. With it, it's clear that the products are from ecological and controlled cultivation and meet the strict requirements of the EU-ecological regulations.
It is difficult and expensive to get a biological certificate for products grown in the woods. It is even more difficult if the crop region is not located in an EU country.
The company BWF received the popular control certificate for some selected mushrooms and berries by the “Grünstempel Ökoprüfstelle e. V.” Wanzleben, one of the official and qualified EU-boards of control.
With that BWF proved, that from cultivation or rather from the collecting areas in the woods up to the whole cooperation chain toward the processing, every regulation is redeemed in order to organic quality. Therefore 10.000 ha forest area have been controlled and expelled as “organic area” for the crop of mushrooms and berries in selected regions of Belarus. For sure, we have a permanent monitoring and control in this region.
The BWF company increased the range of organic products. These are:

With this range the company BWF was one of the first producers who offered products in this segment. For the purpose of our consumers BWF will expand the range.
Certainly there are more efforts for organic products. This concerns both checking and certification of cultivation - resp. collecting - areas and labelling, as well as a complete chain of proof and the separated stocking and processing up to the packaging. Last but not least it regards also the annual examination and sample check for compliance of standards for all production and processing steps. In order to that it is guaranteed that there is not a mixing between conventional and organic goods.
BWF ensures in the new segment of organic products an excellent price-quality-ratio. We would like to provide samples for resellers.
Certificate in compliance with regulations of filling amount and product labeling
BWF got the certificate for the compliance of filling amounts and product labelling by the state office for measurements and calibration in saxony.
It certifies the BWF company that all regulations about filling amount and product labeling are pursuant to the calibration law and the regulations for ready packings redeemed correctly.
Within the effected control there were no complaints that show that the quality-production-system of the company achieved the lawful regulations.

NEW – IQF convenience food !
With the new convenience food in the field of mushrooms BWF combined the long term knowledge about preparing mushrooms with the know-how of convenience food and canned food. To guarantee an absolute freshness BWF decided to produce the new convenience food frozen.
The following mushroom compositions can be offered in different flavours as follows:
- IQF-mushrooms Italian style
- IQF-mushroom-ragout
- IQF-mushrooms in garlic sauce
- IQF-mushrooms in onion-pepper sauce
Within 12 minutes the customer has a various useable and tasteful dish which enriches every meal. The mixed mushrooms are suitable to rice, bread, pasta or potatoes, but also as sauce for meat or as single meal.

The whole energy of cranberries
The cowberry is an especially precious and healthy food. It includes a whole range of important vitamins, especially vitamin B2. Cranberries are close relatives of cowberries and they have their origin in the North of America.
In general it is a bit bitter. The cranberry owes its name the crane. Its pink and white bloom strongly reminds on head and beak of the feathered agent. So without further do, "cranberry" arise from "crane berry".
The about 20 mm long and 15 mm wide, oval, pear-shaped and glaring red berries are not only very delicious. The people also say that there's a huge constitutional effect on it. Even the Indians already appreciated this 300 years ago. Aseptic studies reveal that cranberries are a huge effective prophylaxis against cancer, mouth-, stomach- and urinarytracts infections
From the house of BWF this tasty fruit is immediately available in a 370 ml jar under the private label "Waldkauz". Strongly sugared this product is ready-to-serve packed and it attracts to a direct consumption or as addition on desserts, ice cream, fruit cakes or bakery products.
